Hi! Welcome to my first blog. It will only take you a few seconds before you learn my secret—I have no idea what I am doing so please bear with me as I learn! My goal is to open a dialogue with my readers so I get the chance to know you and you get to know me.

Topics covered by my blog are going to be little snatches of my chaotic life and muddled mind. In other words, I will be writing about everything and anything. Sometimes you’ll laugh. Sometimes you’ll find educational info. Sometimes it will be recommendations for movies or books. But as long as you stick around for the next blog, we will be able to take this writing journey together.

I was one click away from hitting Live on Amazon as an indie author when I heard about a new author-friendly publishing company called Glenfinnan Publishing. They are definitely author friendly. Here is just one example of many. When an author sells their book to a publisher, their control over covers, pricing, and ownership of the book is usually relinquished in return for an advance and royalties. You are selling a product. It might be your baby but it is their book once that contract is signed.

But not all publishers or contracts are the same.

With my first clean and wholesome romance book, Forever Love, I had an image that mattered to me personally for the cover. Other publishers would NEVER have listened to my feelings. This wonderful publisher listened and bent the rules. Why this image? It was a family affair. I wrote the book. My professional photographer daughter-in-law took the picture. The models in the picture are my grandson and his girlfriend. Glenfinnan Publishing accepted the picture. Their designer made the cover. And I now have a romance book that is more than just a story of my heart but a family heirloom.

If you want to learn more about upcoming books, both my Glenfinnan romance and my Harlequin Love Inspired romantic suspense, please send me your email. I will never share it. I will only contact you to inform you of upcoming books or, occasionally, to offer surprises, discounts, and gifts exclusively to my email list readers. So I hope to see you there.

I am looking forward to the weeks and months ahead as I get a better grip on blogging. Meanwhile, I’d love to hear your thoughts on both the cover and the kindness of the publisher.
